Other Deductions

LCPtracker has developed an “Other Deductions Detail” feature which will help increase your ability to track specific details for what a contractor is entering in the other deductions field.  An Admin may want to enhance the collection of Other Deduction details by turning on this new other deduction details functionality.  This new “Other Deductions” setting, once enabled, will be database-wide and is a setting your Implementation Project Manager or Account Manager will need to assist in turning on and implementing. (We highly recommend you develop a role out plan if you are an existing user.)  

Once this is turned on, there will be an additional button called “Other Deductions” on the setup page. You will want to ensure that validations 30, 30a, and 30b are all turned on when using this functionality.

Other Deduction Categories

Each database will have a default category of DOL which can be used, or you can create specific categories if needed.   This allows you to group types of Other Deductions under a specific category.

Other Deduction Types

Other deduction types will be what the contractor selects when withholding deductions from an employee’s paycheck.

The details are setup by the Database Admin and can be done manually or by using an upload spreadsheet.

Once a type has been added in the system and used on a payroll, you will NOT have the ability to delete the other deduction type anymore.  You can disable it but not delete it.

Upload Other Deduction

LCPtracker has a spreadsheet available for upload which is an internal sample USDOL list.  You can override, add, or delete the data in the spreadsheet as needed prior to uploading within your database.

To start, click on “Upload Other Deductions”, download the template, and enter the relevant data, save to your desktop, and then click on browse.  Find the Excel file created and then click on “Upload”.

Once your entry has been uploaded, a pop-up box will appear showing how many records have been uploaded.
