Modified on Mon, 1 Sep at 7:57 AM

The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) announced a new version of the WH-347 form for federal public works projects. LCPtracker is actively working on updating our system to align with the new federal form requirements. We appreciate your patience as we make these necessary adjustments to provide a seamless reporting experience.

1. What are the key updates to the WH-347 form in 2025?

The updated form introduces multiple changes:

  • Improved Data Entry Guidelines: Clearer instructions to reduce errors in required fields
  • Comprehensive Fringe Benefit Reporting: Expanded sections to detail fringe benefits provided to workers
  • Apprenticeship Program Verification: Additional documentation is required to prove eligibility for apprenticeship program
  • Design Refresh: New layout with updated visual design

2. When do the changes take effect?

The form was released on January 15, 2025.

This updated form is valid until January 31, 2028.

3. Can I still use the old WH-347 form?

The previous version of the WH-347 form has an expiration date of 9/30/2026. According to our communications with the USDOL, both new and previous versions of the WH-347 form are currently active. There will be a transition period to the sole use of the new form; however, more details are forthcoming. Please continue to check the U.S. Department of Labor website for any updates.

It is worth noting that some awarding bodies and prime contractors are already transitioning and requiring the use of the new form.

4. Are there also updates to state-specific certified payroll forms?

No, this specific update only impacts the federal WH-347 form.

5. Where can I access the updated WH-347 form?

It is available as a non-fillable PDF on the DOL website.

6. Where can I find guidance on filling out the updated WH-347 form?

The USDOL provides an instructional webpage for completing WH-347.

7. What changes were made to fringe benefit reporting?

The updated form requires more comprehensive reporting on fringe benefits, specifying the exact nature and amounts provided. It also mandates listing the fringe benefit name, plan type, specific plan number, and whether the plan is funded or unfunded. Additionally, the specific hourly credit for each employee must be detailed.

8. How has apprenticeship documentation changed?

Proof of participation in registered apprenticeship programs is required for all apprentices. The updated form now requires listing the apprenticeship program name, the classification it applies to, and whether the program is registered through the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Apprenticeship or a state-approved apprenticeship

agency. It also includes specified entry fields dedicated to identifying registered apprentices and journeymen.

LCPtracker is in the process of updating its software to reflect the new WH-347 requirements, providing seamless certified payroll reporting for users.
