Several dropdown fields in VantagePoint now use a single, consistent set of options for each agency. Admins can add their own options and remove them, and every user in the agency sees the same list.
Where you'll see it
- Contracts (New Contract and Contract Details): 'Contract Type', 'Contract Category', 'Assigned Department', 'Sub Contract Category'.
- Subcontracts (Subcontracts table, New Subcontract Request, Review Subcontract Request): 'Sub Contract Category'.
- Vendors (New Vendor and Vendor Settings): 'Vendor Type / Category'.
What's new
Options are specific to each agency
Each dropdown shows the standard options plus the custom options your agency has added. You will not see custom options from other agencies. When a vendor fills out a form for a contract, they see the options of the agency that owns that contract.
Select an agency first
On the New Contract form, Contract Type, Contract Category, Assigned Department, and Sub Contract Category stay locked until you choose an agency. If you hover over, tap, or tab to a locked field, it shows the following message:
![]()
Screen readers also read the message aloud.
Adding options (Agency Admins and VantagePoint Admins)
Open the dropdown and click '+ Add item' at the bottom of the list. The new option is available right away to everyone in your agency. You cannot add an option with the same name as one that is already in the list.
Deleting options (Agency Admins and VantagePoint Admins)
Click the trash icon next to a custom option. You'll be asked to confirm, with the following note:
![]()
Deleting an option only removes it from the list for future selections. Records that already use it do not change. You cannot delete the standard options.
The list stays up to date
If an option is added or deleted while you are working, the list refreshes when you come back to the browser tab. If you had picked an option that has since been deleted, you will see this message and can pick a new one before you save:
![]()
