Linked Cases allow users to connect multiple cases that involve the same employer or related issues. This feature helps investigators view patterns, avoid duplication, and maintain a complete picture of ongoing or past infractions. Linking is especially useful when different team members have opened separate cases involving the same employer but for different violations.
To view linked cases, begin by opening a case. Once the case is visible on your screen, a navigation bar will appear at the top. Click the last tab in the navigation menu to open the Linked Cases tab, where you’ll find all related cases associated with the current one.

Connected Cases List
Once inside the Linked Case section, a sub-navigation bar will be displayed, separating the Connected Cases and Case Connections. By default, the Connected Cases view is selected, displaying a table with relevant information.
The first tab, Connected Cases, shows the cases you’ve linked to your open case. The second tab, Cases Connected displays cases that other investigators have linked to yours.
Linking cases helps compliance officers and investigators maintain a complete view of employer activity across multiple infractions. When cases involving the same employer or related issues are connected, users can:
- Track patterns and recurring violations more easily.
- Avoid duplication of effort by seeing what others have already investigated.
- Access shared activity history across linked cases, allowing for better coordination and understanding of case developments.
- Improve reporting accuracy, as linked cases are reflected in both the “Connected Cases” and “Cases Connected” tabs, depending on who initiated the link.
- Support collaborative investigations, especially when different team members are working on separate cases involving the same employer or contractor.

The paginated list of Connected Cases associated with the case can be displayed by the following fields:
- Case Code
- Compliance Officer
- Employer
- Overview

Depending on the user's role and permissions, each record in the list may include an Actions column, which offers the following option:
- Remove: Remove the connection related to another case in the actual case. This option is available only to users with the appropriate permissions.

Case Connections List
To access the Case Connections List, use the sub-navigation bar to switch to the corresponding tab. This view will display a list of all cases where the actual case is Linked to. Like the Connected Cases view, this list is also paginated and may contain relevant information of the related cases.

The paginated list of Connected Cases associated with the case can be displayed by the following fields:
- Case Code
- Compliance Officer
- Employer
- Overview

Link a Case
To link a Case, click the button located in the top-right corner of the Linked Case section. This action will take the user to the corresponding form to Link a Case to the actual Case.

The form displays a list of available cases to link to the actual Case. Each related Case in the list includes relevant information and an Add action, which allows the user to include that Case in the current addition process.

Next to this list, a sub-list shows the Cases that have already been selected. Users can select up to 35 Cases per addition process.

If needed, the Clear List button can be used to quickly remove all selected Cases from the sub-list.

Both the main list and the sub-list support search functionality to filter records, as well as pagination for easier navigation and management of large datasets.

Once the desired Cases have been selected, the user can click the Save button to link them to the case. If the user decides to cancel the operation instead, they can click the Cancel button to discard the selection and exit the process.

Unlink a Case
To remove a Case Connection from the current case, click the Remove action in the main list within the section.

This will open a new pop-up menu to confirm the removal of the record from the case.
