LCP CaseView - Account Settings

Account Settings Menu

The Account Settings page allows the user with the role of a Moderator to navigate to their control settings, with available options depending on their role permissions. You may see the following tiles: Your Profile, Account Users, and Account Control and Settings.

Your Profile Tab

Selecting the Your Profile option navigates to a page where the user's profile information is displayed by default. All users can edit their own profile, including their first and last name.

In this same section, there is a navigation bar that shows the currently selected option, User Profile, as well as another available option — in this case, Law Group Permissions.

By accessing the Law Group Permissions section, the user with the Moderator role can view all the Law Groups to which they currently have access. Access can be modified by selecting or deselecting the corresponding checkboxes and then clicking Save Permissions to apply the changes. Please note that this view is only available to users with the Moderator role.

To return to the Account Settings Menu, simply click the Back button located in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Account Users Tab

Selecting the Account Users tab takes the user to a page that lists all Users and their profiles associated with the account.  An account Moderator can assign and edit users in this section. This section is only accessible to users with the appropriate role and permissions — in this case, a user with the Moderator role.

The list displays each user's profile information. In addition to viewing the data, actions are available to edit, disable, or enable a user profile within the account.

Filters are also available for searching and filtering by status, since a user can be either enabled or disabled.

To add a new user to the account, click the Add User button located in the upper-right corner. This will open a screen to create the new profile, where all required fields must be completed to successfully create the user profile.

Once all fields have been filled out, click Create User Profile to save the new user to the current account. After the profile is created, you will be able to assign Law Group Permissions to the new user.

Account Control and Settings Tab

The Account Control and Settings section provide tools for configuring key elements that define how the system behaves at the account level. These settings apply globally and allow administrators to customize functional components.

By adjusting these settings, users can tailor the available data structures, workflows, and logic according to their operational and regulatory requirements. This ensures the system aligns with internal processes and external compliance needs.

By default, the Laws and Law Groups form will be displayed after selecting the Account Control and Settings tab.

Laws and Law Groups

This form lists law groups and various laws/regulations for setting up cases. Only the account Moderator can edit this form; other users have read-only access.

Why Use Law Groups

Law groups help you organize and protect case information in CaseView. They make sure the right users have access to the right cases.  Here’s why it matters:

  • Security: Only authorized users in a specific Law Group can view or work on cases related to that law or regulation. This keeps sensitive information safe. (Group Based Access Account Type)
  • Organization: If your team handles multiple laws or regulations, Law Groups help you keep everything organized. Each group focuses on its own area, so work stays clear and efficient.
  • Controlled Access: By limiting access to certain cases, you reduce the risk of mistakes or unauthorized changes.
  • Accountability: Law Groups make it clear who is responsible for cases under each law or regulation.  This improves tracking and accountability.

Single Group Scenario

  • If your organization has one group of users working on all laws, create one law group and add all users and laws/regulations to this group.

Multiple Groups Scenario

  • If your organization has multiple laws/regulations overseen and different team members working on different laws, create multiple law groups.
  • Assign specific laws/regulations and designate team members to each law group. This approach ensures a secure and organized way to manage user access to laws within your account.

Add a law group

Moderators in LCP CaseView administer over the Law Group Management feature. Allowing them to add existing laws from a catalog or create new ones if needed. These laws are essential for the organization's oversight, especially when an employer has committed a violation.

  1. To add a New Law Group you can click above “Create new Law Group” and a menu will be displayed.
  2.  In the menu, the user needs to add a “Law Group Name” to create the new Law Group.
  3.  Once the field is filled in, the user can save the new Law Group.
  4.  Also, the Law Group can be modified clicking the pencil icon that is next to the Law Group Name.

Add a law

Moderators can now add laws from a catalog or create new ones. These laws are crucial for the organization’s oversight, especially when an employer has committed a violation.

To create a new law within a group of laws, click on Create law. A pop-up window will then appear with options to create the law.

New Law Tab

The first tab is New Law, where the user must manually add the information for the new law. The mandatory fields include an abbreviation and a name for the new law, while an expiration date is optional.

Law Catalog Tab

The second tab, Law Catalog, allows users to select and add laws to a law group. The catalog expands each time a new law is added.

Editing law name

If a user wants to update the Law Name in the Law group, they can click the 'Edit' button located in the Actions column. This name change will only apply to newly created cases and will not affect any cases created prior. Also, a Law can be disable or enable a Law using the button located in actions column.

Configurable Dropdown Settings

The Configurable Dropdown Settings section enables Moderators to manage primary dropdown field values across the LCP CaseView platform. These settings are part of the initial account configuration process and are essential for tailoring the system to match your organization’s specific workflows and business terminology.

Dropdown values can come from several sources, including default system options, custom entries, standardized values provided by LCPtracker, and external data integrated from outside client-side systems. By configuring these settings in advance, Moderators help ensure a consistent and user-friendly experience for all account users.

This section provides an overview of the available value types, guidance on how to manage them, and their role within the broader account setup process.

At the top of the Configurable Dropdown Settings section, you will see a dropdown labeled “Dropdown Field*”. This menu allows Moderators to select which field they would like to configure.

When clicked, the dropdown displays a list of primary fields available within the application. The currently supported fields include:

  • Milestones
  • Case Origin
  • Projects
  • Employer
  • Awarding Body

Once a field is selected, the corresponding configuration panel will be displayed, where you can view and manage the values associated with that specific field.

These values may originate from one or more of the following sources:

  • Custom – Values created and maintained by your account.
  • Default – System-provided values included by LCP CaseView.
  • LCPtracker – Values synced from the LCPtracker platform.
  • External – Data integrated from third-party or client-specific systems.

Only Custom values can be added or edited by Moderators. Values from Default, LCPtracker, and External sources are system-managed or externally integrated and therefore cannot be modified. However, they can be enabled or disabled based on your account’s configuration needs.

The following table shows the source of the values displayed in the different dropdown fields within the menu:

Add Custom Value

To add a Custom value to a Dropdown Field, go to the Custom tab. Then, click the Create button located in the top-right corner of the section. This will display the necessary fields to enter and save the custom value you want to add.

If you want to add a custom Milestone or a custom Case Origin, you only need to provide the Name of the value you want to add.

To add a Custom Project, you need to provide both the Project Name and the Project Code for the value you want to add.

To add an Employer, you must provide both a Name and a Title to complete the creation process.

Edit a Custom Value

To edit an existing Custom Value, click the Edit button located in the Actions column.

When editing a record, the editable fields will become active while the others will remain disabled. Once the changes are made, you can click Save to apply them or Cancel to discard the changes.

To disable or enable a record, you can use the button located in the Status column.

Assessment and Payment Types

The Assessment and Payment Types section allows users with the Moderator role to manage all Penalty Types available in the account. This includes creating and editing penalty types, linking them to existing Laws in the account, and controlling their status (enabled or disabled).

This setup ensures that other users can view the appropriate Penalty Types based on the law associated with each case, as these values are determined by the account’s configuration settings.

The main view displays a table containing the key details of each record, such as the Type, Name, the Number of Laws linked to the record, and Actions to edit or enable/disable a record. The list includes pagination to help manage the existing records more efficiently.

Additionally, records in this section can be filtered by search, Payment Type, or Status, making it easier to locate specific entries.

If you need to return to the Account Settings menu, you can click the Back button.

Create an Assessment/Payment Type

To add a new Assessment or Payment to the account, click the Create Payment Type button.

A form will initially be displayed with two required fields: Payment Type and Payment Name. The Create button will only be enabled once both fields have been completed.

After creating the new record, the form is updated to display the Payment Type associated with the record. A table is also shown, allowing you to select existing laws in the account to link them to the newly created Payment Type.

You must link the law or regulations if there are or will be assessments and payments associated with cases records. To link a law, click the Select a Law to add dropdown, where all laws available in the account will be listed. Once you select a law, the Add button on the right will be enabled. Clicking this button links the selected law to the created Payment Type.

Once the law is added to the Payment Type, it appears in the paginated list, where you can view the law's details and use the Remove action to unlink it from the record.

After adding all the necessary information, you need to save the changes made to the record. You can click Save & Close to apply the changes and return to the main list of records. Alternatively, you can click Save to apply the changes without leaving the current page, or Back to cancel any changes made to the current record.

Edit an Assessment/Payment Type

To access the edit view of a record, click the Edit action. This will take you to a view like the one shown after creating a Payment Type, where you can modify fields and add or remove Laws from the record.
