What is Fortify?

Fortify is a new Digital Identity Provider (IDP) bringing modern authentication concepts to our users.

Fortify boosts our software security by add Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and allowing organizations to manage access through trusted Third-Party Authenticators (TPA).

Getting Started

Existing Users who are selected to onboard to Fortify, will receive an ‘Onboarding Email’.

New Users will receive two emails:

  • The ‘Welcome email’ will notify you have been granted access to a database/account.
    1. The email’s subject will be ‘Notice of new Account Access’.

  • The ‘Onboarding email’ will help you initiate the Onboarding process.

Onboarding Email

Subject: Fortify Onboarding The Fortify onboarding process begins with this email.

The Onboarding email will include a username and temporary password.

  • Select the ‘Complete Profile’ option, this will direct you to the LCPtracker User Portal login screen.
  • The user ID and temporary password on the email (which may be copied and pasted) will be used to login to the account.

On the Login page, type in the username, enter the temporary password, and then click ‘Login’.

Complete Profile

On the Onboarding page, be sure to accept the LCPtracker ‘Terms of Use and Privacy Policy’ in the ‘Agreements’ step.

Then, you must click on ‘Save and Continue to Update Profile’ button.

Step 2, you can update your ‘Profile’ information, then click ‘Save and Continue to Update’ button.

Step 3, you need to set up your new ‘Password’.

  • ‘Current password’: Use ‘Temporary Password’ in onboarding email.
  • ‘New password’: Choose a new password.
  • ‘Confirm new password’: Must match the ‘new password’ entered.
  • Click on ‘Save and Continue to Two-Step Verification’ button.

Step 4, you need to set up 2-Step Verification.

If you choose ‘Enable Email Code’ you will receive an authentication code every time you attempt to login to your account.

After selecting ‘Enable Email Code’, you will be given a set of recovery codes. Please make sure to save these codes in the event of losing your device, you need these codes to access your account.

Lastly, click on ‘Go to LCPtracker User Dashboard’ button.

You will then be redirected to the User Portal ‘Dashboard’. You can click on the LCPcertified tile to access your account.

Note: If a user has already completed the Fortify Onboarding through a different product (i.e. LCPtracker), then the user will be able to access such products through the appropriate product tile.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

2FA is an additional layer of security for the user’s account. There are two options available for this required step (select one).

  • Email Two-Factor Authentication – this does not require any set up. If you do not use a third-party application, Fortify will send a 6-digit authentication code to your email which you will need to access your account.
  • Two-factor Authentication Application – this third-party application is to be set up on a person’s phone or corporate laptop/Desktop. The app will provide the user rotating verification code (short-term expiration) that Fortify will accept to grant access to their account.

There are two ways you can set up a ‘Two-factor Authentication’ application. The first is selecting ‘Enable Email Code’.

The second way to add the Two-Factor Authentication feature is to select the ‘Enable Authenticator App’ to set up your required application. You can do this by clicking ‘Profile’ on the menu panel and then ‘Two-Step Verification’.

Example Using Microsoft Authenticator App

  • Download and install the app to your smartphone.
  • Open the Microsoft Authenticator app and select the Add account button and tap Work or school account.

  • Select Scan a QR code.
  • Locate the QR code and using your device’s camera, scan the QR code. You may also enter the code manually.

  • Choose the newly created account in your Microsoft Authenticator app.
  • The Authenticator App will provide you with a verification code for you to enter.
  • Once you enter the verification code, select the Verify button.

You have set up your Authentication App! When accessing your LCPcertified account, you will need to use the authentication app to access your LCPcertified account.

If you would like to disable the Authenticator application, then you simply go to the ‘Two-Step Verification’ under profile and click on ‘Reset Authenticator App’ button.

Recovery Codes

Using Recovery Codes

When you are unable to access your email or the two-factor authenticator app (2FA), you can use one of your 10 recovery codes to get into your account.

Authenticate by Email with Codes

  • Enter your Username and Password and select Login.
  • If you do not have access to the email or Authenticator Application, you may use one of the ten recovery codes to access your account.
  • Select the ‘log in with a recovery code’ link.
  • Enter the Recovery Code and select ‘Log in’.

This will provide you access to your Fortify account where you can access your LCPtracker products.

Note: Each Recovery Code may only be used once. You must ensure to generate new recovery codes before using the tenth one.

  • On the User Portal Login page, type in your username and click continue.
  • Click ‘Reset here’ link.

  • Type in your username and click ‘Send Email’.
